English Skills Training Graduation

Friday, May 20, was my English Skills Training Graduation day. I felt so happy and fulfilled because it was like a big accomplishment for me. Seeing the Certificates (I got 2) with my name professionally printed was awesome.
To complete the celebration, our Assistant Director Tony Clarke treated us to Bacolod Chicken, one of the restaurants in Metro Walk. The food was good, and we had fun yet sensible conversations.
Let me share the photos for that special day. :)

Tita Connie's 75th Birthday

This evening, I attended Tita Connie's 75th Birthday held at Villa Monica. It's funny that we call her Tita even if she is actually our Grandma (being the sister of my Mom's mother). Since most of my Uncles and Aunties and including my Mom, we got used to calling her Tita.
The place was well decorated although it's still humid since it's not a closed air-conditioned room. The motif was orange which I find very unique. The food was good and the program was okay, considering it's a party for Senior Citizens.
My Mom and my other grandma's performed a dance number - the music was "Follow the Leader". It was hilarious but it actually encouraged some of the older generation that they can still be entertaining by dancing the music of today.
I wonder if I will reach that age? Gee, I hope so. I like parties, especially birthdays. It's a special day where I get to see my family, my relatives and friends. Somehow, it gives me a sense of achievement, knowing that I had been a part of many lives.
I have here some pictures as a remembrance to that event. Enjoy!

Becoming Comfortable with English

From May 2 - 6, I was trained for English Skills. I am a Product Trainer in my company but I do get to teach almost anything and everything. Now, it's about English Skills - Accent Neutralization, Vocal Skills, Pronunciation and a lot more. I was truly afraid of it since English is not really my cup of tea. I am more of a Math person - since I find Stability in Math. It's a Universal Language and there's just one answer. But I accommodated the English Skills training with open arms. Surprisingly, I had fun!
May 9 - 13 was like judgment week. It's my turn to share the knowledge to some of the office staff. Well, actually, it's not just me. There's Erick, Ashley and Febe - my co-trainers. I was so nervous since I got the hardest lesson - and to think that it's my waterloo. But I was happy that it was over and all our participants passed the Certification. Phew, what a relief!
Even if the training was over, I can't help but review the wonderful memories that go with it. We had fun in class, and even when we're out for lunch. Boy, you don't have any idea about the "challenges" that we had!
Anyway, I am truly glad to be part of that training. It helped me to become comfortable with English. And I just hope I can share that learning to more people so that they would experience the joy that I had!
